چکیده
Recent technological advancement in next-generation sequencing (NGS), plants can be prioritized for sequencing in relation to their value to humans. NGS provides the possibility of cost-efficient whole genome sequencing. Notable developments pertaining to genome sequencing of fruit crops are highlighted. These sequence information has been used extensively for analyzing and understanding structural and functional genomics for various biotic and abiotic stresses. *Corresponding author: Nimisha Sharma, Division of Fruits and Horticultural Technology, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, India, Tel: +911125843214; E-mail: [email protected] Received January 28, 2016; Accepted February 20, 2016; Published February 24, 2016 Citation: Sharma N, Singh SK, Lal S, Singh NK (2016) Genome Sequence Information in Fruit Crops: Current Status. Independence of color intensity variation in red flesh apples from the number of repeat units in promoter region of the MdMYB10 gene as an allele to MdMYB1 and MdMYBA
MdMYB10 gene expression results in accumulation of anthocyanin in many tissues including flesh of applefruit. The MdMYB1 and MdMYBA genes are close homologues to MdMYB10 gene and both are responsiblefor red color phenotype in apple fruit skin. In the current study, an apple genome sequence draft analysisindicated that these three genes are located in a unique contig. Further a...

"Candidatus Phytoplasma pruni" strain CX, belonging to subgroup 16SrIII-A, is a plant-pathogenic bacterium causing economically important diseases in many fruit crops. Here, we report the draft genome sequence, which consists of 598,508 bases, with a G+C content of 27.21 mol%.
متن کاملThe genetic basis of fruit morphology in horticultural crops: lessons from tomato and melon.
Fruits represent an important part of the human diet and show extensive variation in size and shape between and within cultivated species. The genetic basis of such variation has been studied most extensively in tomato, where currently six quantitative trait loci (QTLs) involving these traits have been fine-mapped and the genes underlying the QTLs identified. The genes responsible for the clone...

Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae), is one of the most important pest of vegetable and fruit crops. This polyphagous pest has a range of natural enemies including the parasitoid Eretmocerus mundus (Merect) (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae). To determine the molecular profile and taxonomic status of Iranian isolates of E. mundus, parasitized B. tabaci samples were collected from cotton...
